Youth board member Bipin Budhathoki hosted the programme in which the youth networks showcased cultural performances that carried the theme of protecting human rights. Joseph Youth Network and NCC Youth Network performed dances projecting messages of protecting rights of migrant workers and women respectively. Kathmandu University Youth Network performed a drama portraying the injustice to Noura Hussein of Sudan set in a Nepali cultural context. Youth members of Tri Chandra Youth Network, Kathmandu University Youth Network and Elysian Youth Network recited original poems that shed light on the social flaws that impede the promotion of human rights. Advisor Puroshottam Dahal lauded the active involvement of the youths in the human rights campaign and dwelt on the message of the performances
Amnesty International Nepal marked the 57th Amnesty Day on 28 May by organising a social event carrying the theme “Respecting Diversity and Inclusion” at Sarwanam Theatre in Kathmandu. Five youth networks of Amnesty Nepal staged different performances to an audience of nearly 200 including representatives from the civil service sector, non-governmental organisations and media. Founder of Amnesty Nepal Nutan Thapaliya, advisors and former chairpersons were present at the programme chaired by General Secretary Lekh Nath Niraula.
