As part of its nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the rights of Nepali migrant workers, Amnesty International Nepal and AI Nepal Group-80 jointly organised a demonstration and signature collection programme on 28 June, demanding protection of labour and human rights of Nepali migrant workers.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and senior leader of the United Communist Party of Nepal (UCPN -Maoist) Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Nepali Congress (NC) leaders Binaya Dhwaj Chand and Lokesh Dhakal along with hundreds of Nepali citizens from different walks of life expressed their solidarity with the cause. Over 500 signatures were collected at the event.
AI Nepal has been running a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the rights of Nepali migrant workers. The demonstration and signature collection programme held on 28 June is also a part of the same campaign.
