Over five hundred young activists participated in a Candle- rally opposing violence against women in Nepal. In the rally, organized in Lalitpur on 11 January 2013 by Engineering Youth Network affiliated to Amnesty International Nepal, participants mainly young people marched through the city center of Lalitpur by holding enlightened candle and plea-cards. On the occasion, young activists vowed to book the culprits involved in these inhumane acts.
The rally begun from Pulchowk Engineering College in Lalitpur and passed through various parts of the city and finally reached at the Patan Durbar Square. It converged into a gathering reaching the Durbar Square. The program was inaugurated by Pratap Poudel, Treasurer of AI Nepal. Youth activist Swabhiman Acharya and Astha Bhatta shed light about the subject matter on the occasion.
