Amnesty Nepal organized two preparatory workshops on the ‘Write for Rights’ in Itahari and Butwal on 15-16 and 21-22 November respectively. The workshop was attended by 120 members, including from its affiliate Groups, Group-in-Formation and Youth Networks.
Write for Rights (W4R) is the world’s biggest human rights event, wherein thousands of people write letters and change lives together.
In the workshops, the facilitators discussed different methods and approaches to independently implement the W4R campaign on the ground. Both the international and the local cases selected for this year’s W4R campaign participants were introduced to the participants. The cases from China, Bangkok, Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, Nigeria and Belarus are among the international cases which focused on the protection of human rights defenders and prisoner of conscience.
