Representatives from Amnesty International Nepal JuRI Nepal, Community Self Reliance Centre, Mahila Ekata Samaj, Land Rights Forum met the Law Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal at his office on 11 December and submitted suggestions on the three laws: Land Act 2018, Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act 2018, Housing Act 2018 – recently promulgated to implement the fundamental rights.
Suggestions collected after three rounds of consultation, interaction and group discussions relating to the positive aspects of the law, the immediate steps required to be undertaken in order to implement the law and the issues to be amended about the three laws were submitted to Minister Dhakal. Minister Dhakal committed to proceed forward by taking a careful read of the suggestions provided.
