Amnesty International Nepal organised the first of its regional one-day workshop entitled Rights of the Migrant Workers in Letang, Morang on 16 June 2018. A total of 34 participants from Amnesty Nepal affiliated groups from twelve districts of Province one, two and three were briefed on Amnesty International’s findings of the mobile phone survey released in November 2017 on the situation of migrant workers. The participants then discussed potential advocacy strategies at the local level on this issue. The participants also discussed how the advocacy and campaign on the rights of migrant workers could potentially be used as a grass-roots engagement and mobilization strategy for the broader human rights education and awareness campaign contributing to the growth goal of Amnesty Nepal.
