Policy Dialogue: State and Business Accountability on Recruitment Abuses

Amnesty International Nepal and PNCC jointly organised a dialogue programme entitled ‘Policy Dialogue: State and Business Accountablity on Recruitment Abuses’ at New Baneshwor, Kathmandu on 11 May 2018. The programme opened with Amnesty Nepal’s Campaign Officer Ashmita Sapkota’s presentation on the current conditions where migrant workers of Nepal face unruly abuses in the recruitment process. The panel discussion as the main session of the programme had participation of representatives from the major stakeholders in the recruitment process. Dialogue with Director General of Department of Foreign Employment Mr. Bhuwan Acharya, Mr. Barun Ghimire  of Law and  Policy Forum for Social Justice (LAPSOJ), SSP of Nepal Police Crime Investigation Bureau Rabindra Prasad Sharma, Recruitment and Migration Manager at FSI Ms. Neha Chaudhary and PNCC Secretary Mr. Som Lamichhane was moderated by Sub-editor of Kantipur daily Mr. Janakraj Sapkota. The programme concluded after an open floor discussion where the participants aired their questions and suggestions that could help streamline the recruitment process.
