Amnesty International, Kav La’Oved and Pourakhi are submitting a briefing to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. The briefing focuses on the organizations’ concerns regarding the situation of Nepalese women who seek to pursue opportunities to work in other countries. Nepalese female migrant workers are effectively trafficked for purposes of exploitation as domestic workers in certain countries. Regrettably, measures adopted by the Nepalese government to protect women from the risk of such exploitation have failed.
