Activists in Nepal gathered in Kathmandu today to express solidarity with the Adhikari couple who have been staging fast-unto-death for over a month demanding action against those involved in the murder of their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari. Krishna Prasad was killed in Ratnanagar of Chitwan on charges of spying on the Maoists during the insurgency.
The programme was coordinated by Amnesty International and organised by Transitional Justice (TJ) Advocacy Group, a loose network of Conflict Victims Groups and Civil Society Organisations aiming to put pressure on authorities to ensure justice for conflict victims and prosecution of those involved in human rights abuses during the decade long conflict.
Over a hundred people attended the programme.
