Letter Submitted to Butawal Sub-Metropolis Chief against Forced Eviction of 16 Families
Amnesty International Nepal, Justice and Rights Institute Nepal, Community Self Reliance Centre and Mahila Ekata Samaj submitted a letter to Butawal Sub-Metropolitan City Chief Shivaraj Subedi on 17 July expressing grave concern on the forced evictions of the 16 families of Bitauri Masjid Tole, Ward No.1 of Butawal Sub-Metro city. The eviction is a blatant violation of these people’s right to housing guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal, Right to Adequate Housing Act 2018 and the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act 2018.
