Stakeholders and migrant communities expressed the dire need of establishing information dissemination structure at local level to make migration safe and dignified. Amnesty International Nepal in coordination with local civil society organisations organised an interaction in Mahottari and Saptari, two districts with higher rate of foreign labor migration.
Marking International Migrants Day, the participants discussed solutions to overcome the problems faced by migrant workers. The program was attended by around 150 people comprising of returnee migrants, families of migrants, human rights activist, media, government officials and representatives of civil society organisations and members of Migrant Workers Welfare Centre.
