Sessions at the Mela focused on AI’s campaigning framework and techniques, ongoing priority campaign of AI Nepal, how youth can contribute to the larger movement and experience sharing.
The Mela was inaugurated with a panel discussion on Youth’s role in Safe Migration. Panelist included human rights activist Krishna Pahadi, Constituent Assembly members Gagan Thapa (Nepali Congress) and Rabindra Adhikari (Communist party Unified Marxist Leninist), Clara Fok- Youth and Activism Co-ordinator from Amnesty International East Asia Regional Office, Women Human Rights Activist Renuka Paudel and Upashana Dhakal, Co-ordinator of National Youth Advisory Panel of Amnesty International Nepal. Youths, local AI members, and media attended the event.
There was participation of 94 youth representatives from Youth Networks affiliated to AI Nepal. Amongst them 50 were female participants.
