Young activists demanded truth, reparation and justice in the cases of human rights abuses during armed conflict in Nepal. Taking part in a cycle rally that organized by Amnesty International Nepal on the occasion of the 64th International Human Rights Day on 10 December 2012, they called on the government to ensure justice.
The rally begun from Pulchowk Engineering College in Lalitpur, passed through Thapathali, Maitighar, New Baneshwar, Putalisadak, Bhadrakali, New Road and finally reached at the Basantpur Durbar Square. It converged into a gathering reaching the Durbar Square.
The program was inaugurated by veteran human rights activists of Nepal Krishna Pahadi by flying pigeons, the symbol of peace.
Over 150 Youth Network Members and supporters of the Amnesty International participated in the rally which carried the placards bearing the slogans with the theme of ending impunity and protect human rights. Chairperson of AI Nepal Shambhu Thakur concluded the event.
