Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network http://www.apiyn.org/The Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network is an alliance of indigenous youth organizations in Asia and the Pacific. It aims to promote and defend the rights of indigenous peoples in general, and the indigenous youth in particular. The Network intends to contribute to building the capacity and self-confidence of indigenous youth in the Asia-Pacific Region by providing systems of information, exchange and networking. It prioritizes on mobilizing the catalytic role of indigenous youth by facilitating exchange of ideas, analysis and experiences that they in turn can contribute and share with their indigenous communities. Youth Action Nepal http://www.youthaction.org.npYouth Action Nepal (YOAC) came in existence in the year 2003 with the initiation of Nepalese university students considering the vulnerable social, economic and political situation in post conflict Nepal. Their aim is to create pro-human rights, democratic and just society through active youth participation from local to national to international level. Their vision is that Youth will contribute to community building processes. Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Migrant issues are key campaigning focuses. Young Asia TV http://www.yatv.netYoung Asia Television, or YATV, is a multi media organisation where young people use the latest, as well as more traditional, communication methods to inform, educate and empower. Emphasis is placed on issues such as sustainable development, environmental protection, human rights and peaceful coexistence. The programmes are designed to encourage discussion and dialogue. The team, which is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka consists of 130 people. Training is given in all areas of media development and production, but perhaps more importantly, they acquire a greater social awareness. Drishtipat http://www.drishtipat.org/Drishtipat is a non-profit, non-partisan volunteer organization, composed of students and young professionals worldwide, committed to safeguarding human rights in Bangladesh through action-oriented projects that provide direct assistance to those individuals whose voices remain unheard today. Drishtipat started in 2001 as a response to an increasing feeling of helplessness faced by expatriate Bangladeshis at the human rights violations in Bangladesh. Now Drishtipat with its strong online presence has 8 chapters all around the world in USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Bangladesh. |
